It's No April Fools Joke--Happy Birthday LouLou

Happy 17th birthday Louisa! You were the best April's fools present ever!

Maybe it's because I feel like I "raised" you that you hold a special place in my heart. I remember those nights spent rocking you to sleep, playing with you, and having your cute little talkative shadow follow me around. It's hard for me to believe where the time has gone.

You're been blessed with so many talented and things I admire about you. But the quality I admire most is your "can do" attitude. You've never let anything stand in the way of those things you want. Whether it's learning to play yet another instrument, pushing yourself in school, or being a major team contributor in soccer, basketball, softball, or track you don't let the impossible stop you. Since I don't always do that, your inspiration inspires me.

You've always made me laugh as you have this great, slightly dry sense of humor. I love those moment around the dinner table or in the car where you've said something so witty or spot on that we can't help ourselves from laughing.

I've always appreciated your longing to stay young. It was so sweet to see you do things with enthusium that most junior high students would classify as "childish."

I've loved how you've always been you--sometimes it's a little bit more grungy version of you. :) I don't know how many times I've flipped through my camera only to find that you've hijacked it and it's now filled with all these crazy funny pictures of you highlighting that you've never been afraid to laugh at yourself or let anybody tell you what to do. You're crazy. I can't that family trip where you took pictures of everybody's backside or the times you pull out your crazy dance moves.

You've got a great enthusium for life, who else can play minature golf with such style?, that when I'm hoping will rub off on me when I'm around you.

Having you as a little sister has reminded me to be myself, to have fun, to laugh, and to go after my dreams. Thanks for inspiring me! I love you
